Course Details

The Managing Hostile Interactions training consists of two, 3-hour sessions delivered live via Zoom. Attendance at both sessions is required in order to receive a certificate of completion. 

Delivered in a webinar-workshop format this course combines lectures, group discussions, and informative slides. Participants also receive a PDF workbook to follow along during the session and to use as a reference in their work afterwards. This course meets the WorkSafe BC training requirement for violence in the workplace prevention

Eligibility

All BC public libraries through their federations.

InterLINK typically offers Managing Hostile Interactions 4-6 times a year. The frequency of training dates depends on the demand. We encourage you to sign up as soon as you can for the scheduled dates!

The course consists of two sessions and each session is three hours long.

This course is facilitated by Mario Govorchin. Mario is a certified conflict resolution instructor with over 20 years of experience in the field.

Yes, we accept multiple registrations from library systems and individual branches.

InterLINK provides staff training through libraries or federations. Because of this, we work directly with libraries or federations for billing. We’re not able to invoice individuals.

InterLINK will invoice the appropriate library/federation.

Yes, each participant should use their own device for the best experience.

The Managing Hostile Interactions Zoom link is usually sent to participants about 48 hours in advance of the course start date. 


If you haven’t received the Zoom link 24 hours prior to your first training session, please reach out to us directly at alison.brierley@interlinklibraries.ca or via our contact form.

It’s on its way! It may take up to two-four weeks after the course finishes to process and send your certificate of completion. Thank you for your patience.

Please note, you are only eligible to receive a certificate of completion if you attended both training sessions.
